Terms of Service

Last updated: March 8, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SimpleClaim, an online legal document automation platform operated by SimpleClaim, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). By using SimpleClaim, you agree to these Terms.

1. What SimpleClaim Is — and Is Not

SimpleClaim is a document automation and legal information platform. It helps you prepare documents for small claims court and understand the small claims process.

SimpleClaim is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Use of SimpleClaim does not create an attorney-client relationship. The information and documents provided are for informational and self-help purposes only. For advice specific to your situation, consult a licensed attorney.

Brad Harrison, the founder of SimpleClaim, is a licensed attorney in Washington State and Georgia, but he is acting as the operator of a technology platform, not as your attorney.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use SimpleClaim. By using the platform, you represent that you are 18 or older and that you have the legal authority to enter into these Terms.

3. Scope of Service

SimpleClaim currently supports small claims cases in Washington State (King County and select additional counties). The platform:

We do not predict case outcomes, evaluate the strength of your claim, or guarantee any legal result.

4. Accuracy of Information

The quality of documents generated depends on the accuracy of the information you provide. You are responsible for ensuring that all information you enter is truthful, accurate, and complete. We are not liable for errors in documents caused by inaccurate information you provide.

5. Fees and Payments

SimpleClaim charges a flat fee of $149 per claim for the full document package. Optional add-ons include certified mail delivery ($14.99) and additional form packages ($29). Fees are charged through Stripe at the time you request document generation.

All fees are non-refundable once documents have been generated, except where required by law.

6. Unauthorized Practice of Law

SimpleClaim is designed to comply with Washington State's rules regarding the unauthorized practice of law (UPL). The platform provides legal information and document automation — not legal advice. If you are unsure whether SimpleClaim is appropriate for your situation, consult a licensed attorney before proceeding.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SimpleClaim and SimpleClaim, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to damages related to case outcomes, document errors, or service interruptions.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of SimpleClaim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SimpleClaim, Inc., its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of SimpleClaim, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

9. Data License and Model Training

By using SimpleClaim, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, process, and analyze the information you provide — including case details, intake responses, and usage data — to provide the services you've requested, operate and improve the platform, develop new features, and train and improve the AI models that power our document generation and case analysis.

We may also use anonymized or aggregated data (with all personally identifiable information removed) for research, product development, and model improvement without restriction. We will handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell personally identifiable information to third parties.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, software, and materials on SimpleClaim are owned by or licensed to SimpleClaim, Inc. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of SimpleClaim without our written permission. Documents generated for your specific case are yours to use for your case.

11. Privacy

Your use of SimpleClaim is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

12. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of SimpleClaim at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes where possible.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our site. Your continued use of SimpleClaim after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
